Linux Ubuntu 6.06

Ubuntu is a Gnu/Linux distribution recent, evolving/moving quickly (only three years of existence and already six versions), sponsored by the company Canonical Ltd whose founder is the multimillionnaire Mark Shuttleworth. Based on Debian (a particularly robust distribution which will celebrate soon its fifteen years), Ubuntu Linux is resolutely directed general public. Ease of use and thorough completion are the Masters words of this distribution which also proposes frequent updates. Compact - it holds on only one CD - it ensures a great hardware compatibility and can easily be enriched by many software once installed. Ubuntu, which also exists in version for waiters, functions on the current platforms which are intelx86, AMD64 or PPC for Mac (Community version only). Framasoft proposes to you his special forum Destination Ubuntu for all those which wish to migrate (or simply to be informed) on this enthralling distribution.

This book, like the precedents, does not detail the complete syntax of the orders presented; there are the pages of handbook for that. The goal of this work is to have an overall picture of the tasks of administration and elements of the system that any person wishing to manage a Linux machine must know and include/understand.
